Magic Wand to Win @ 6/4 - BET NOW

Aidan O’Brien has won three of the last 10 renewals of the Darley Irish Oaks and his three fillies all have live chances in the Irish Classic on Saturday afternoon.

Preference has to be for Magic Wand after her impressive win in the Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot last month, when bolting up by four lengths. The filly reversed the Epsom Oaks form with Wild Illusion that day in emphatic fashion and, provided there’s no rainfall, she could be hard to beat in her follow-up bid.

The daughter of Galileo had excuses in the Epsom version of this test, when still filling into her frame, and looked unbalanced on the track. The ground wouldn’t have been in her favour and she looked all at sea as the pack set sail for home up the camber in search of better ground.

Having suffered interference in the run from re-opposing stablemate Forever Together, Ryan Moore didn’t give her a hard time once her chance was gone and that was rewarded when a wide-margin winner at Ascot last month.

The aforementioned stablemate wasn’t seen at her best over 1m2f last time on quicker ground, but the proven stayer wouldn’t be without a chance herself if the rain arrives.

Sea Of Class may be the main danger for trainer William Haggas. The English raider arrives with two Listed wins from her last couple of starts at Newbury and her trainer’s patience may be rewarded on her first start in Group company - if she handles the preliminaries.

St Patrick’s Day to Win @ 5/2 - BET NOW

Moore has an eye-catching book of rides and there’s a fair chance that his mount on the Group 2 on the card can improve past his rivals. Less exposed than the remainder, the colt ran a fine race on yard debut last time following his move from Bob Baffert, and the full-brother to American Pharoah could prove hard to beat.

A winner on dirt in the US over sprint trips, the drop back to 7f from a mile should be in his favour here and he’s the first-string on jockey bookings for a yard that also run the filly Hence in the race.

Newbury 3.00

Equilateral to Win @ 3/1 - BET NOW

The Group 3 contest over at Newbury looks winnable for Equilateral. The colt disappointed at Royal Ascot last time but the yard’s runners were below form at the time, and he can gain compensation here.

The three-year-old had previously set an impressive speed figure at Doncaster on seasonal return and there’s value in his price at the current odds, with William Buick taking over in the saddle.
