With three meetings today, we have two selections from Bath and a selection in the big sprint handicap at The Curragh.

14:00 The Curragh

Summerghand to Win and Each Way @ 12/1 – BET NOW

The selection has been in great form recently, winning two of his last three starts, including in a six-runner contest on soft ground at Newmarket last time out.

Prior to that, the son of Lope De Vega had placed third in a valuable York handicap in similar conditions at the end of July.

The selection has tracked the pace in recent starts and that looks likely to suit with a total of 27 horses declared for this highly competitive sprint handicap.

The booking of top jockey Declan McDonogh catches the eye in this contest and, with a draw of 19 an added positive, he can help trainer David O’Meara improve on his 22% strike-rate (2/9) with his raiders to Ireland so far this year.

14:45 Bath

London Rock to Win and Each Way @ 3/1 – BET NOW

London Rock was a late foal having been born in mid-May and, with that in mind, it’s perhaps surprising to see him running so well so early in his career.

The son of top sprinter Society Rock finished well beaten in a Windsor maiden over 6f on debut in June but his subsequent efforts have proven much more promising.

The first of those came when finishing a 6L sixth over 6f at Newbury (good-to-firm) the following month while a 2L defeat in similar conditions at Salisbury followed three weeks later.

Arguably his best effort so far came when finishing second on his first attempt at this 5f distance in a nursery handicap at Ffos Las (good-to-firm) earlier this month.

The selection had to give best to favourite Glorious Charmer that day but went left leaving the stalls and shaped as if the drop back in distance had suited.

With that in mind, he looks to hold strong claims here and is taken to break his maiden in what looks a competitive handicap event.

17:05 Bath

Windsorlot to Win and Each Way @ 7/2 – BET NOW

Trainer Tony Carroll and jockey Poppy Bridgwater have been in great form of late and the trainer comes into this contest with a 31% strike-rate (11/36) in recent weeks.

The stable’s representative here is the five-year-old gelding Windsorlot, a good 5L second in an amateur riders contest over this 1m2f distance at Brighton (good-to-firm) earlier this month.

Ridden by Sarah Bowen on that occasion, the son of Windsor Knot was held up for much of the contest prior to finishing strongly to take the runner-up spot near the finish.

The selection was returning to form that day having proved a disappointment when dropping to 1m1f on good ground at Newbury a month ago.

While he remains on a mark 2lb higher than for his most recent victory in a 1m2f good-to-firm ground Newbury amateur riders event in June, he looks capable of putting up a bold show and in the process improving on his rider’s 53% strike-rate (8/15) with her mounts in recent weeks.
