Tuesday Racing Tips & Predictions

Montestrel to Win and Each Way @ 7/4 - BET NOW

The Jane Williams-trained Montestrel began his career over hurdles by forcing Quel Destin to settle for second spot at Chepstow in the autumn. That form was firmly turned around the following month at Cheltenham but it might be worth concluding Montestrel didn't run his race then.

In any instance, the form shown in beating off the Paul Nicholls inmate first time out ranks a strong effort, with Quel Destin having gone on to win five on the bounce since. His latest romp at Haydock over the weekend leaves him as the leading British-trained Triumph Hurdle contender on the racing odds.

Montestrel didn't run his race at Cheltenham in November, despite having travelled well enough to the second last, where he was right in the firing line. The way he finished suggests all wasn't as desired. He can bounce back here and confirm the promise of his debut outing.

This is no gimme, with Scaramanga, Sofia's Rock and Envole Toi all viable dangers. However, Lizzie Kelly's mount retains plenty of potential and her 3lb claim won't do their case any harm.

L'Chamise to Win and Each Way @ 8/1 - BET NOW

Not a lot went right for L'Chamise on her debut at Market Rasen in October although she showed real guts and determination to make it a winning one. She was bumped by a rival early in the piece and shuffled back to the tail of the field as a result. It was from there that she had to build her challenge and she appeared to have floundered after a mistake at the third last cost her more momentum.

She wasn't for giving up and rallied strongly, gaining the upper hand on favourite Lily Of Leysbourne in the closing strides. She's been off since and will have to improve on the bare form to grab this prize, but she's capable of doing so and while a longer trip may be her thing in due course, her willing attitude might just prove enough to see go in again now. She is being overlooked in the racing betting.

Generous Day to Win and Each Way @ 4/1 - BET NOW

Henry Oliver's seven-year-old has improved on each of his three starts over fences so far, finishing second at Southwell in December on his second attempt before going one better at Warwick early last month dropped back to two miles.

This test should suit him once more and a 4lb rise in the weights may not be enough to curtail his progress. He raced prominently and jumped accurately in that success last time, traits that served him well in fending off the likes of Movie Legend and Baby King in second and third. He's got scope for doing better and can confirm placings with those re-opposing rivals on his way to a second win over fences.
