13:50 Ludlow

Kingofthecotswolds to Win and Each Way @ 9/4 - BET NOW

Nigel Twiston-Davies’ Kingofthecotswolds has been running well in the main in recent starts, with his latest effort coming when finishing runner-up in a 2m novice hurdle on good-to-soft going at Huntingdon last month.

The drop in trip appeared to suit that day, having finished a fair 13-and-a-half-length fourth over an extended 2m5f in a maiden hurdle event held on good-to-soft going at Wetherby prior to that.

Promising amateur rider Jack Savage was on board for each of those starts and, while the selection has yet to win in five career starts, he’s run to a decent level of ability. The booking of Sam Twiston-Davies for the first time since the pair finished runner-up in a good ground Warwick bumper in May last year is also a positive.

15:25 Doncaster

Court Liability to Win and Each Way @ 4/1 - BET NOW

Harry Whittington’s charge has won four of his five career starts, with his sole defeat coming when finishing a 12L fourth in a handicap hurdle over 3m1f at Huntingdon (good-to-soft) last time out.

Given the gelding was bumped on the home bend, it’s possible that he would have done better but for that slight interference, but even so it was a perfectly respectable effort. The selection’s four previous victories included a good ground handicap hurdle at Musselburgh over 3m in December.

That particular effort came off a mark 6lb lower than he races off here and it’s notable that it marked his first outing over this trip, having raced over shorter distances prior to that.

The Musselburgh success was also the son of Court Cave’s return to action following an absence of over a year, with his previous victory coming by 2L in a Hereford novice hurdle over an extended 2m3f on good-to-firm going in November 2017.

The extended 3m trip here is in Court Liability’s favour and the forecast ground should suit given he won on good going over 2m5f at Sedgefield as a novice in autumn 2017.

18:00 Wolverhampton

Betancourt to Win and Each Way @ 9/2 - BET NOW

Each of trainer Stef Keniry’s last two runners has won, with the most recent of those coming in a handicap chase at Musselburgh a week ago. Her representative here, the nine-year-old gelding Betancourt, was a winner over an extended 2m at this venue at the start of December.

The son of Refused To Bend followed that effort up with a good head second to one of today’s rivals, Lady Makfi, over the same course and distance last month. While he races off a mark 3lb higher than for his latest success, he enjoys this track and the slight drop in distance shouldn’t inconvenience given he won over this 1m6f trip on turf at Redcar back in September. The selection has a change of jockey this time, with Jason Hart taking his first all-weather ride for Keniry.
