With six meetings set to take place on Wednesday, including action from Gowran Park in Ireland, we have tips from the Flat fixtures at Nottingham and Beverley and also over jumps at the picturesque racecourse of Cartmel.

4.50 Nottingham

Deadly Reel @ 11/2 - Win and Each-Way - BET NOW

The selection showed his best form as a juvenile on a sound surface, including when beaten a length in a handicap contest at Salisbury (1m, good) last August. That particular effort came off the same mark he races off here while his forays onto softer surfaces resulted in a mid-division finish on debut at Doncaster (soft) over an extended 6f and when beaten 18 lengths over 1m at Pontefract last September.

With that in mind it’s encouraging that Archie Watson’s charge followed up a neck second on the AW at Chelmsford last month by finishing a six-length second on soft ground at Wetherby over this distance a month ago.

The winner of that Wetherby contest did nothing for the form when suffering a heavy defeat subsequently but the third-placed horse Quantatmental won at Beverley earlier this month and lines up here with the selection weight to confirm that form.

With improvement likely back on a sound surface, the daughter of Pour Moi is taken to register her first success at the 11th time of asking in this competitive staying event.

2.00 Beverley

Young Tiger @ 11/2 Win and Each-Way - BET NOW

Tom Tate’s charge has registered two wins to date with both of those success coming off significantly lower handicap marks on the all-weather over this trip at Newcastle.

The most recent of those successes came by four lengths in November. The selection disappointed over the same course and distance subsequently but he shaped better on his seasonal debut last time out when recording a career-best effort on turf by finishing a good third over this course and distance.

Underfoot conditions are forecast to be similar here and, while the draw could have been kinder, he was slowly away on that occasion. With the drop down in grade from a 0-70 contest last time out to the 0-60 here, he looks capable of notching his first victory on turf with regular jockey Andrew Mullen in the saddle once more.

5.15 Cartmel

Think Ahead @ 6/1 Win and Each-Way - BET NOW

Useful Flat performer Think Ahead can provide trainer James Moffatt with a local winner in the concluding race on Cartmel’s card - a handicap hurdle restricted to conditional jockeys.

Formerly trained by Saeed bin Suroor, for whom he won over 1m2f at Meydan on good ground back in February 2016, the selection was subsequently purchased for £18,000 in the spring of that year.

Since then the son of Shamardal has had his sights turned to hurdles and he registered a course and distance success on soft ground in a maiden hurdle in July last year. Following that, the gelding finished runner-up on soft ground at Haydock in March prior to an eight-length defeat when fourth again on soft ground at Perth last month.
