There is a more laid back nature to racing on Tuesday with only four meetings taking place.
Tuesday's Horse Racing Predictions
Afternoon jumps racing comes from Bangor (12:30-16:15) and Chepstow (12:50-16:35) alongside Flat fare at Catterick (12:40-16:25) while later on Southwell (16:50-19:50) have a seven-race evening offering from the all-weather.
Tuesday's horse racing predictions include a couple of jumpers and one on the Fibresand in Nottinghamshire.
Jemima P to win and each-way - BET NOW
The second division of this Novices' Handicap Chase looks the weaker on paper and should offer a good opportunity for the Emma Lavelle-trained Jemima P to make a good impression on her handicap/chase bow.
The Jeremy mare returned from 278 days off with a personal best effort at Uttoxeter (2m4f, good to soft) in August, coming with a late challenge to finish a neck-second under Adam Wedge.
The stable have been amongst the winners recently and rider Bryony Frost will still be on a high after Frodon's Cheltenham success on Saturday. There should be more to come from this mare now seeing fences and with 32-race maiden Scartare forecast to be her chief rival in the betting, this is an ideal window to get on the scoresheet.
Blackjack Kentucky to win and each-way - BET NOW
A fairly decent Beginners' Chase on the card here and one which should in time produce its share of winners.
Liosduin Bhearna, Ashfield Paddy and Doc Penfro all make appeal on paper and are types to fall into that future winners category while Olly Murphy's runner The Wolf is the only one in the line-up with a recent run under his belt. He was somewhat disappointingly turned over in a match over hurdles at Bangor four weeks ago and will need some more determination on his chasing bow to score.
Preference today is for Blackjack Kentucky for the in-form Paul Nicholls and Harry Cobden team. They made hay here at the recent jumps meeting and further Welsh winners are surely in store.
A point-to-point winner in Ireland late in 2017, chasing will have been the ultimate end-game for this Oscar gelding since he arrived in Ditcheat. He was consistent if not spectacular over timber, placed five times in seven starts and gaining his only win at this track on heavy ground over just shy of three miles in January.
He was behind Liosduin Bhearna next time in second at Doncaster but, with his trainer in such fine fettle now, can reverse that form over the larger obstacles.
Thawry to win and each-way - BET NOW
Thawry was an impressive winner on his first start at this venue at the start of the month, coming away by more than eight lengths to score under Angus Villiers with an impressive previous C&D winner flailing behind in third in Mackelly.
He was a short price to follow up over the same 1m4f nine days later but could only manage a one-length fourth. He turned for home with a wall of horses in front of him and Villiers was forced to try and pick a path through, having to wait until it was all too late before switching inside as his mount plugged on for that fourth.
Both of those runs suggested that Thawry is more a stamina sort than anything, with his winning effort coming at just the one pace. The step up to two miles therefore should be just his thing and he can make it 2-3 at this unique venue.
