Wednesday's Daily Racing Betting Tips & Predictions: 25th November

The all-weather dominates the midweek action with three meetings taking place alongside two jumps offerings.

The action gets underway at Wetherby (11.45-15.30) with their jumps card joined by Hereford (12.05-15.50). Afternoon all-weather racing comes from Lingfield (12.00-15.40) and Dundalk (14.05-17.45) before Kempton (16.00-19.40) concludes the action.

Two in-form riders are in the saddle for our selections from the National Hunt meetings, starting with Robbie Power's ride at Hereford.

Hereford 13.40

Princess Midnight to win and each-way - BET NOW

It wasn't the greatest of races that Princess Midnight won over C&D at the start of the month but it was another piece of progress from the Colin Tizzard-trained mare as she continues to take nicely to chasing.

She was winless over hurdles but clearly is appreciating the switch to this sphere, building on solid efforts at Plumpton and Wincanton earlier in the autumn with a merited success here 23 days ago.

That was Robbie Power's first time on board and she jumped accurately, having the race at her mercy when she popped over the last before holding off Wisecracker in comfortable fashion to score. A 4lb rise looks more than manageable, with Power enjoying a fine time of things lately and boasting a 26 per-cent strike-rate from 31 rides in the preceding fortnight.

Wetherby 14.25

Smarty Wild to win and each-way - BET NOW

Billingsley is probably the one to beat on paper but there may be some cobwebs here. After an unseat at Bangor on his chase debut in November last, he has won all three starts thereafter, including a decent Newbury handicap in February off a mark of 129.

He's been absent since and returns from this 7lb higher perch. His record first time up is not convincing and perhaps he'll need the run.

Fitness can be an edge for Smarty Wild. The Philip Hobbs-trained six-year-old won four out of nine starts as a hurdler (rate 134 at best) and made a solid start in this discipline when third at Ascot (2m3f, good to soft) late last month. 

He was giving weight away to the pair that beat him and his case wasn't helped by a jumping mistake when trying to mount his challenge from the rear. He should be sharper for that run and can get in the mix under in-form Richard Johnson. 

Ballyvic Boru benefitted from the late fall of Some Reign when scoring over C&D 26 days ago and both are considered again, though the selection is unexposed and can improve past them.

Kempton 16.30

Black Box to win and each-way - BET NOW

This might be a battle between the fillies Fauvette and Black Box, with a preference for the latter.

Fauvette has run well in all three starts for Rae Guest but has spurned chances to win, notably when picked off by a 33/1 chance at Newcastle on Friday. 

Black Box shaped with some promise in two turf runs in the summer and has built on that in novice/maiden runs here and at Southwell recently over 7f. 

The form of her third place finish here last month has been boosted by the front pair since and she didn't appear to get home over 7f on Southwell's Fibresand since, proving no match for the winner and just being run out of second close to home. A drop in trip, as well as returning to this surface, may do the trick for Ben Curtis' mount.
