Vichy hosts a ten-race card on Wednesday, with plenty of sprints on the straight course and some classy affairs on the round course

Wednesday's Horse Racing Predictions

Check out our betting tips for the French card at Vichy including at 14/1 tip in the 15:10 race.

12:10 Vichy

Terre De France to win - 11/10 - BET NOW

Terre De France should win this conditions race. His form is the best by quite a way and none of his rivals have the sort of form behind them to challenge him if he is on his game.

Terre De France's obvious claims are reflected in his favouritism for this race at 11/10 and for those seeking a little more for their money might look for the horse to fill second place behind him and to either back that horse to place, or place a reverse forecast. The best option is the talented Kongastet at 10/3.

A 16-race maiden, Kongastet tends to mix it between this sort of Class 2 company and claimers. He shows enough in the former that he should win events at the latter level, but he tends to come up short.

The answer to that is the one his backers might fear. He is a bit quirky. He often wears headgear and carries his head high. But his record of placing is strong and his form is arguably the second-best on offer here, anyway, so he makes sense as a place alternative to the likely winner.

15:10 Vichy

Achille Des Aigles to win - 14/1 - BET NOW

Many of the sprinters in this race last ran at Chantilly a couple of weeks ago. Chef Oui Chef won over this five-furlong trip, while three of them ran in a six-furlong race.

In the latter event, they split into two groups. The one that raced furthest from the stands dominated, with Shams Brazilero second and Tenorio fifth.

On the stands side, Achille Des Aigles finished sixth overall, but 'won' the clearly disadvantaged side.

On that basis, he is probably back in form, although the handicapper dropped his mark again. He is now just above his last winning mark, which came over this course and distance in August.

He was comfortable that day, too, in a race that contained horses of a similar grade to this race. He could have snuck in here as one on a good mark on the verge of a return to his best.

Ficelle Du Houley to win - 9/2 - BET NOW

Six of the seven in this race have black type to their names and the exception might even go off favourite. Bergamasque is trained by Francis-Henri Graffard and ridden by Pierre-Charles Boudot. She was second on her debut before winning pretty comfortably on her second run.

She might get her black type one day, but the way her last run has worked out demands quite a step up here. It is better to side with one who is in-form and probably fit. Ficelle Du Houley is probably the one.

Her black type comes from 2018, when she was second in a Group 3 in Italy. Her best effort, though, came at Deauville last time when she won off the equivalent of a BHA mark of 94. That shows that she retains a Listed sort of level of ability and that she is primed to show it. Others arguably have more talent, but on the day Ficelle Du Houley can have their measure.
