There is never any quarter asked or given when West Yorkshire rivals Wakefield Trinity and Leeds Rhinos go head to head.
None is expected on Thursday night when the sides battle it out at The Be Well Support Stadium, as both teams go in search of their first wins of the 2022 Super League campaign.
Wakefield Trinity vs Leeds Rhinos Betting Odds
With both winless after the first three rounds of the competition, the pressure is mounting to bag those first two points of the season.
Leeds are the favourites going into this encounter, with the Rhinos at 4/9 to earn the win and the bragging rights on Thursday night.
Wakefield are 7/4 to cause an upset against former Trinity boss Richard Agar and his Leeds side, with the draw currently available at 20/1.
Wakefield Trinity vs Leeds Rhinos Team News
Leeds look set to be boosted by the return of winger David Fusitu'a as he hopes to make his second appearance for his new club after concussion ruled him out of the last two games.
The Rhinos backline could also be bolstered by centre Harry Newman returning to full fitness after a hamstring injury suffered in the pre-season win over Hull FC.
After a spell of compassionate leave in his native Australia, second-row Rhyse Martin is back in the UK and is also in contention to face Trinity.
As for Wakefield, Liam Hood and Bill Tupou are sidelined for the arrival of Leeds but in more positive news half-back Mason Lino could make his first appearance of the season for Trinity after recovering from a knock.
Where To Watch on TV
Thursday's clash is being shown live on Sky Sports Arena, with the program set to start at 19:15.
Wakefield Trinity vs Leeds Rhinos Prediction
Leeds win and -6 Handicap - BET NOW
Although it has been a sluggish start to the season for Leeds, the Rhinos are rarely the quickest team to come out of the blocks in Super League and usually start to come good towards the business end of the campaign.
The return of Fusitu'a and Newman should give the visitors more dynamism in the backline against a Wakefield side that suffered a 20-4 defeat at the hands of St Helens last time out.
Martin also back in the pack gives Leeds that extra experience that will be needed to get a win on the road against Wakefield.
Trinity have not been too far off the pace in their early season games, barring that defeat to reigning champions St Helens.
Wakey suffered a 16-12 defeat in their opener against Hull FC, before another narrow loss, 24-22, to last season's runners-up Catalans Dragons.
The return of Lino should give Wakefield a bit more creativity around the park for head coach Wille Poching, but it might not be enough to bag that first Super League win of the season on Thursday.
Leeds might well edge this one but don't expect Wakefield to roll over against their near-but-not-so-dear neighbours.
