After a fallow week the 2022 Six Nations Championship returns this weekend with Scotland hosting Grand Slam chasers France at Murrayfield on Saturday.

The Scots will be looking for a response after a disappointing 20-17 defeat down in Cardiff, while the French are seeking a third successive victory after downing both Italy and Ireland.

Scotland vs France Betting Odds

Despite not having a good record in Edinburgh over recent years, France are the heavy favourites for the win going into Saturday's 14:15 kick-off.

The visitors are 4/11 to maintain their perfect record in this season's championship and keep their hopes of a first Grand Slam since 2010 alive.

After a win against oldest rivals England in their opening game, Scotland's terrible run of results in Cardiff continued.

A Scottish response to get their title hopes back back on track with a win are 5/2, while a first draw between these sides since 1966 in the Five Nations is available at 28/1.

Scotland vs France Team News

Hosts Scotland have picked up some knocks following the first two bruising rounds of the competition, with Jonny Gray, Scott Cummings, Cameron Redpath, Rory Sutherland and Javan Sebastian all dropping out of the squad.

Uncapped Glasgow pair Ollie Smith and Kiran McDonald have been called up, as have Simon Berghan, Oli Kebble, Marshall Sykes and James Lang.

The return of Bath back-rower Josh Bayliss is another boost for head coach Gregor Townsend as he considers how best to neutralise a frightening French pack.

France have come through the opening two rounds largely unscathed and will be taking a strong squad across The Channel this weekend.

Scotland vs France H2H

In total there have been 98 meetings between Scotland and France, with the French winning 56 to the Scots 39.

Recent years have seen an upturn in Scottish wins, with the Scots winning three of their last four meetings.

A 27-23 last-gasp victory in Paris last year was Scotland's first win in the French capital since 1999, as Duhan Van der Merwe scored in the 85th minute to seal a memorable success.

Murrayfield has certainly not been a happy hunting ground for a France side that have always headed to Edinburgh as favourites in recent decades.

Scotland have won all of their last three Six Nations encounters with the French, with Les Bleus last success being a narrow 19-17 win back in 2014.

Both nations boast star-studded backlines but it will be in the forwards and the set-piece where this Test match is won and lost.

The Scots set-piece has been shaky throughout the tournament so far and they will need a vastly improved performance in that area to spoil France's Grand Slam hopes.

The 23/10 on offer for a French win by between one and 10 points might well be the way to go in this one.
