Ding Junhui and Stephen Maguire face off in the UK Championship final at the York Barbican on Sunday afternoon.

China's Ding, who won this event in 2005 and 2009, overcame compatriot Yan Bingtao 6-2 in the semi-finals and earlier in the tournament knocked out defending champion Ronnie O'Sullivan and Ali Carter.

We tipped Maguire to win his quarter at 14/1 before the competition got underway and he has managed to go all the way through to the showpiece. The Scot thrashed Mark Allen 6-0 in his last-four clash and dumped out Graeme Dott and Matthew Stevens on his way to the final.

Ding Junhui v Stephen Maguire Betting Odds

Ding goes into the UK Championship 2019 final as the 6/10 favourite and Maguire is rated at 6/4.

The race to three frames market is a little closer, with Ding 4/6 and Maguire 11/10.

Ding Junhui v Stephen Maguire Betting Outsider Tips

Correct Score Ding Junhui 10-6 @ 15/2 - BET NOW

If you're after a big price the correct score market is the way to go in the final and a 10-6 victory for Ding at 15/2 could be a strong option.

The world number 16 has been in impressive form in York and only Carter and O'Sullivan managed to take him close as Ding beat both 6-4. His other four victories have all been by four-frame margins and it could be a similar story against Maguire.

The 2004 champion saved his best for the last four with his destruction of Allen and, until his meeting with last year's runner-up, had managed to avoid the bigger names.

Maguire has only been involved in two major finals as he also lost this event in 2007. Ding has more experience in this area as he lost out in the World Championship final in 2016 and has contested two Masters finals, winning one and losing one, meaning he has won three of the five big finals he has been involved in.

Ding Junhui v Stephen Maguire Prediction

Handicap Betting Ding Junhui -1.5 frames @ 8/11 - BET NOW

The handicap is set at -1.5 frames for Ding in the final and he should be able to beat that against Maguire. The 32-year-old has won all of his matches by at least two frames so far and when he does win finals he tends to do it in style.

Ding has 13 ranking titles to his name and all but one of those final wins came by at least a two-frame margin, while he also thrashed Marco Fu 10-4 when they met in the Masters final in 2011.

Ding leads his head-to-head with Maguire 8-1 and claimed a 3-1 win over the 38-year-old in their most recent meeting in the Champions League earlier this year.

Highest Break Stephen Maguire @ 6/5 - BET NOW

Ding is the favourite to hit the highest break but Maguire looks the better option as he has been in fine scoring form over the course of the tournament.

Ding has hit five tournament centuries and his highest so far is 116, while Maguire has a tournament-high eight tons so far with breaks of 135, 129, 123, 116, 115, 108, 106 and 100 and he can hit the highest of the final, even if he misses out on the trophy.
