Despite missing out on a place in the Senate in the 2018 mid-terms last week, Beto O’Rourke has had his odds slashed from 100/1 a month ago to as short as 4/1 with one bookmaker to become the Democrat Candidate in 2020 in the latest US politics betting markets.

O’Rourke has become one of the most popular figures in American politics following his “campaign of compassion” against Republican Ted Cruz. While failing to win the Senate seat away from the 2016 Presidential Election Republican nominee, the 46-year-old has been credited for turning Texas Courts Blue in favour of the Democrat party in a deeply Republican State.

From 100/1 to 4/1

Beto O'Rourke to be Democrat Candidate @ 10/1 Best-price - BET NOW

The short prices for O’Rourke are part of a new-wave of Democrat voices making ground in America in direct contrast to the policies of President Donald Trump. Not only are they active on social media, but are appealing to younger voters across the country.

Just 200,000 votes separated Cruz and O’Rourke in the Texas mid-terms in what became the closest senate race in the state for 40 years and the bookies feel O’Rourke’s blue wave could continue into the Democrat nominee possess for the upcoming 2020 Election.

While the El Paso native might appeal to Democrats, it will be the Trump voters he will need to convince if he is successful in the Democrat nominees. Trump has a stronghold of fans in the deep south and O’Rourke’s success in Texas has certainly inspired Democrats to believe he will be the right man to tackle the President’s divisive politics.

Donald Trump to win 2020 Election @ 6/4 - BET NOW

O’Rourke holds pro-immigration, pro-union, pro-gun control views that chime with plenty of Americans but will he be able to get his message out to Trump supporters?

Donald Trump is a 6/4 favourite to win the 2020 Election. While he constantly caused controversy throughtout his tenure, he still holds a popular, loyal net of supporters. It would take a seismic shift in the way Americans view the World to persuade them to vote anything else. Beto O’Rourke is 12/1 to win 2020 Election and become the next President of the United States of America.

Who are the favourites?

Kamala Harris to be Democrat Candidate @ 11/2 - BET NOW

The favourite to be the next Democrat Candidate for President is Kamala Harris, Senator for California. The former Attorney General of California is a best-price of 11/2 to be the Democrat Candidate in the 2020 Election.

The 54-year-old has stated that she does not rule out to be in the running for President and if she is nominee as the Democrat Candidate she will look to be the first female President of the United States of America.

Bernie Sanders to be Democrat Candidate @ 10/1 - BET NOW

2016 President Candidate hopeful, Bernie Sanders, can be found at 10/1 to become the next nominee. The veteran politician was celebrated for bringing democratic socialist ideas to the table as he faced Hilary Clinton the Democrat candidate race three years ago.

Sanders’ legacy can be felt in the new-wave of Democrats making a name for themselves in recent months like O’Rourke and 29-year-old Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. While it might be too quick to rule out Sanders running again, its entirely plausible that a nominee will run on a very similar platform to the Vermont Senator a few years ago.
