It’s the return of Eurovision this weekend! We’ve had the contest that no one watches on BBC and you lot have decided on two kids that came sixth on the Voice or something. Joe and Jake are going for that One Direction type vibe I think. Other than one of them having a fantastic name, they haven’t got much going for them to be honest... I feel like the UK treats Eurovision very differently to other countries, because like most things we have somehow managed to revolve it around drinking and partying – which is great.

United Kingdom To Win @ 80/1 – BET NOW

The bookies tend to have some idea about who’s going to win every year, which I don’t understand other than it’s usually somewhere near Russia. But below the first couple in the market these bookmakers don’t have a clue! Take little Joe and the exquisitely named Jake from the UK, Spreadex have them priced about right at 80/1 but WHAT are those traders at Betfair doing pricing us up at 25/1! According to Betfair, we are a full 200 times more likely to win Eurovision than Leicester were to win the league this year. And in all truth, I’d offer you 5000/1 we win.

These mad price differences are scattered all the way down the list though. Belgium’s Laura Tesoro, who is terrible by the way, is a best price of 100/1 and worst price of 50/1! Half the odds! Iceland are also a best price of 100/1 and worst price of 50/1. Bulgaria can be backed at 200/1 with Spreadex but are 33/1 with Unibet for God’s sake! I think they’re literally just pulling a price out of a hat then pulling a country out and going “hmm yeah that’ll do”.

The need to compare the odds is more important than it has ever been in the case of the Eurovision Song Contest. Because when I drunkenly put a tenner on Bulgaria on Friday night at 200/1 and then they win making me £2000, your puny £330 winnings from Unibet will be laughable! Betting with Easyodds pays… in the words of Gina G ‘Ooh Ah Just A Little Bit’.
