The 2015 tennis season is drawing to a close with the season ending ATP World Tour finals underway at London’s O2 Arena with Novak Djokovic is the overwhelming favourite to lift the title for the fourth year on the spin. Tom Powell has three tips to share for this year’s event…

Outright Tips:

Novak Djokovic To Win Group A @ 2/7 – BET NOW

Andy Murray To Win Group B @ 31/20 – BET NOW

Novak Djokovic Outright Winner @ 1/2 - BET NOW

Djokovic is a best price 1/2 to win this year’s World Tour Finals and as short as that price is it seems it is more than a fair price given his form at the moment. At 8/11 he looks a decent price to go unbeaten throughout the tournament with his only real danger being a group stage match against second favourite Roger Federer. The Swiss world number three is the only player to have beaten Djokovic more than once this year but his legs will be tiring after a long hard season and you’d have to fancy the Serb to come out on top. Andy Murray is the only other player likely to threaten Djokovic though he’s struggled against him this year and they may not even meet with Murray likely to face Federer in the last four.

Onto Group B and Andy Murray has been dealt a decent draw, avoiding both Djokovic and Federer until a likely meeting with one or the other in this last four. Murray ‘should’ beat David Ferrer with the Spaniard in the twilight of his career while Stan Wawrinka has had an inconsistent season with Murray almost certain to be favourite to beat the Swiss number two who looked well off the pace in his loss to Nadal. That just leaves Nadal himself who is still nowhere near his best and doesn’t like playing Murray. At a best price 31/20 Murray looks great value to book a place in the last four by finishing top of Group B, how much further he can go is far from certain however.

As you can see from my previous selection I don’t think Nadal has too much of a chance at the O2 this week despite his win over Wawrinka on Monday. Having returned to the tour after a long absence because of appendix surgery as well as recovery from back problems and a wrist injury at the end of last season, Nadal has struggled to get back to his best. Since the start of September Nadal has lost to Fabio Fognini at the US Open, to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in Shanghai and Stan Wawrinka in Paris with his other two losses against Djokovic and Federer forgiveable. Nadal should qualify now but then lose to Djokovic in the semis.
