Elena Rybakina pulled off one of the shocks of Wimbledon by defeating former champions Simona Halep in straight sets. Halep had destroyed all who came before the semifinal, but struggled to get out of the gates on Thursday. Now, Rybakina will face No. 3 seed Ons Jabeur in the women’s singles final on Saturday.

Jabeur is having a stellar Wimbledon Championships. Prior to the semifinals, the Tunisian was the bookies’ favourite on the women’s side. Top favourites Coco Gauff and Iga Swiatek were both eliminated in the third round, leaving the women’s tournament wide open. Jabeur now has the opportunity to win her first-ever Grand Slam title.

Jabeur is currently ranked No. 2 in the world. She is having a fantastic season with two titles and a record of 36-9. Rybakina is the world No. 23 player. She has a record of 27-12 this season. She has really caught fire in London and will feel that this is her time to win a Grand Slam tournament.

Rybakina has not won a tournament title this season, but has two to her name over the course of her career. Despite the form Rybakina has shown in London, she is the underdog going into the match with Jabeur.

Halep was the first and only seeded player at Wimbledon Rybakina has had to face. The lack of top-quality opponents could lead to Rybakina to being overwhelmed by Jabeur. However, Halep failed to win a set against Rybakina in the semifinal, losing 6-3, 6-3.

Elena Rybakina vs Ons Jabeur Betting Odds

Jabeur is the favourite to pick up the win in the women’s Wimbledon final. The Tunisian has never won a Grand Slam tournament. Her previous personal best at a Grand Slam was the quarterfinals of the Australian Open in 2020 and the quarterfinals of last year’s Wimbledon.

Bookies’ best betting odds on a Jabeur win are at 4/6. In the semifinal, Jabeur won the first set to Tatjana Maria 6-2, but dropped the second 3-6. She made up for the second set slip up with a third set 6-1 win. Jabeur has been electric at Wimbledon.

Jabeur has lost just two of 14 sets at Wimbledon. Those lost sets came in the quarterfinals against Marie Bouzkova and in the semifinals versus Maria. Bookies’ best betting odds on Jabeur to win the final 2-1 are at 3/1. There is a lot of value in this bet.

Bookies see this match going just two sets, however. The best odds on a two-set match are at 8/15. The odds on three sets are at 11/8.

Rybakina goes into the match at the odds of 13/10 to win. The No. 17 seed bested Halep in the semifinals 6-3, 6-3. It was a shock win due to Halep’s form at Wimbledon. Just one of Rybakina’s matches has gone to three sets.

Neither player has spent much time on the court at the Championships. Critics of Rybakina will cite that she hasn’t played the strongest competition to get to the final. However, proponents will claim that she stepped up and delivered when needed versus Halep.

Elena Rybakina vs Ons Jabeur H2H

Rybakina and Jabeur have met three times previously. Jabeur leads the series 2-1 and is on a two-match winning streak against Rybakina. No. 17 seed Rybakina won the first meeting between the two in 2019. She claimed the win in Wuhan 2-1. The second meeting between Rybakina and Jabeur was in 2021. The two played in Dubai with Jabeur winning 2-1.

The autumn of 2021 was the third and most recent match between Rybakina and Jabeur. Rybakina retired from the match in the second set. Jabeur had won the first set 6-4 and was leading 3-2 when the Kazakh retired, handing the win to Jabeur.

Rybakina has come out of nowhere at Wimbledon to reach the final. For the most part, she has had a good season, but it hasn’t been spectacular. She has consistently reached the round of 16 at tournaments, but has only gone further on a few occasions.

Her best tournament finish in 2022 was at the Adelaide International Open in January. There, Rybakina reached the final, losing to Ashleigh Barty in straight sets.

Jabeur is on a nine-match winning streak ahead of the final on Saturday. Prior to entering Wimbledon, Jabeur won the Bet T1 Open. She is in brilliant form and plenty of punters will be betting on her to win the Championships final.

Elena Rybakina vs Ons Jabeur Betting Tips

Since Gauff and Swiatek were eliminated from the Wimbledon Championships, Jabeur has been the bookies’ favourite to win the women’s tournament. She has been brilliant, but pushed to three sets in each of the last two rounds.

Rybakina has also played strong tennis at Wimbledon. Just one of her five matches went to three sets. She hasn’t spent a lot of time on the courts of Wimbledon, which should help her stamina and fitness.

Although Rybakina is the underdog, her ability to defeat Halep shows just how strong a player the Kazakh is on her day. Rybakina attacked Halep’s second serve relentlessly in the semifinal. Halep landed 52% first serves as she simply couldn’t get the first serve to fall as wanted.

Jabeur did struggle with her first serve in the semifinal versus Tatjana Maria. She completed just 49% of her first serves. If Jabeur hits below 50% once more, Rybakina will likely take advantage. Rybakina is strong on grass. Her grass-tailored game will need to be on point. Jabeur has won nine consecutive matches on grass.

Rybakina has a big serve that Jabeur must deal with. Jabeur conceded zero aces in the semifinal against Maria, showing her strong defensive game. Rybakina landed four aces in her semifinal win over Halep. She conceded zero aces to the former Wimbledon champion.

Perhaps Jabeur’s net game will be what wins this final for her. Jabeur won 28 of 38 net approaches versus Maria in the semifinal. The Tunisian will try to pin Rybakina back. Like two of their three previous matches, this should go three sets at a price of 11/8. Jabeur should pick up the Wimbledon final win 2-1 at the best odds of 3/1.
