Dominic Thiem and Alexander Zverev will clash at Flushing Meadows on Sunday in what should be a thrilling men's US Open final.

German Zverev reached his first Grand Slam final in the hardest way possible after being forced into five sets by Spain's Pablo Carreno Busta. The fifth seed fell two sets down before digging in to win 3-6 2-6 6-3 6-4 6-3 against the 20th seed.

Thiem had a more regular route to the final, beating Russia's Daniil Medvedev 6-2 7-6 (9-7) 7-6 (7-5) at the Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Dominic Thiem vs Alexander Zverev Betting Odds

Both players are looking to win their first Grand Slam crowns this weekend, but Thiem goes into the final as the heavy favourite. He is as short as 1/4 to get the job done this week, but there is every chance he struggles to move around the court.

The Austrian ace hurt his leg while playing against Medvedev on Friday and he will need to recover quickly. Thiem cannot afford any distractions as he tries to make history and Zverev will hopefully use the injury to his advantage.

Zverev is 10/3 to end his major wait and history will be made whoever wins this weekend.

Sunday's match will witness the first major singles champion born in the 1990s, and it could be a major breakthrough for the new generation of stars.

Thiem to win 3-1 - BET NOW

While Thiem's injury may worry some of his fans, he showed plenty of grit and determination to get past Medvedev. Just when the Russian looked to be coming back into the contest, he would be put back in his place and Thiem looks like the player that will eventually break the top three in the rankings.

Thiem also has the upper hand when it comes to their meetings. He has beaten his rival in seven of their last nine matches, and Zverev's fitness levels will also play their part.

A five-set epic against Carreno Busta is the worst preparation he could have asked for, and wee see Thiem coming out on top.
