Finally, after a two-year wait, Wimbledon is back upon us and the British battalion will be hoping they can make up for lost time and give home support something to cheer about.

Finding someone to emulate the achievements of Andy Murray, who claimed a second Wimbledon crown in 2016, looks fiendishly difficult and the focus on the women’s game will again be on Johanna Konta, who has shown she can handle the pressure.

Cameron Norrie, who is 200/1 to be crowned Wimbledon champion, has made huge strides this season and is no forlorn hope to last until the second week, while teenager Jack Draper is a name to remember after reaching the quarter-finals at Queen's. He is 500/1 for victory.

But the men’s challenge may still be spearheaded by Murray and Dan Evans, who is ranked 25th in the world and is the British number one.

Andy Murray Wimbledon Betting Odds

Andy Murray to win - BET NOW

Murray became the first British player to win a Wimbledon senior singles title since Virginia Wade in 1977 when defeating Novak Djokovic in 2013, and he showed that success was no fluke when following up three years later.

It is a remarkable achievement for Murray to have won three Grand Slam titles during what is undoubtedly the greatest era of tennis, but a hat-trick of Wimbledon wins looks unlikely.

Injuries have curtailed Murray’s career since those glory days, with the former world number one since having a metal hip installed.

The 34-year-old is a 46-time winner on the ATP Tour but he is without success since triumphing in Antwerp in 2019 and last week he was beaten in the second round at Queen's by eventual champion Matteo Berrettini.

Murray is 80/1 to clinch a third Wimbledon crown, but he will need plenty of luck with the draw having subsequently dropped to 119th in the world rankings.

Johanna Konta Wimbledon Betting Odds

Johanna Konta to win - BET NOW

Konta reached the Wimbledon quarter-finals in 2019 and she had gone one better than that two years prior with a run to the last four.

The 30-year-old may be Britain's best chance of a winner again and she is 40/1 to be crowned champion on the back of her recent title triumph in Nottingham.

Her win at the Viking Open earlier this month was a first title since 2017 and despite slipping to 30th in the world, she readily outclassed her field as top seed, winning five matches in six days.

Those exertions lead Konta to withdraw from Wimbledon warm-up events in Birmingham and Eastbourne to prevent a long-term knee injury.

Tougher opposition lies in wait at Wimbledon and four of her last five Grand Slam appearances have resulted in first-round exits, but confidence could be restored and she has proven grass-court form.

If any Brit is to reach the fourth round or beyond, then Konta may be best placed to do so, providing the early draw is kind to her. She is Britain's only representative in the women's singles and is seeded at number 28.

Dan Evans Wimbledon Betting Odds

Dan Evans to win - BET NOW

Evans, along with Cameron Norrie, is among the 31 seeded players in the men's singles draw, but it is fair to say he hasn’t maximised his potential.

Although at a career-high world ranking of 25, Evans has won only one title on the ATP Tour and has never gone beyond the fourth round of a Grand Slam in 18 attempts.

He has fallen at the first hurdle in three of his five Wimbledon ventures, although being a seed provides him with a strong chance of posting a career-best effort this summer.

Evans is 200/1 for Wimbledon joy but perhaps 200/1 shot Norrie, who reached the final at Queen's and is improving at a rate of knot, carries Britain’s best hope in the men’s event.
