With only two rounds remaining of the current Serie A campaign, a few things are about to fall into place, when Monza welcome Lecce at U-Power Stadium.

Monza approach round 37 as number 8 in the Serie A table with 52 points on their account so far. With 36 rounds behind them, Lecce have amassed 33 points, placing them as number 16 in the standings.

Since Monza can improve on their position to be placed inside the top 6 by downing Lecce on Sunday, we might have an exciting game ahead of us.

Monza scored 15 goals, conceded ten and fought their way to three clean sheets in their previous ten matches.

Lecce are currently not the most scoring team in the Serie A, as they only found the back of the net six times in ten matches. This is an average of just 0.6 goals a game in which they conceded 12 times, an average of 1.2 per game. They managed two clean sheets in of these.

Monza and Lecce had to make do with a point each in their latest encounter, which finished with a 1-1 scoreline. The best betting odds on a draw at full-time with the bookies are at 11/5.

Monza vs Lecce Prediction

Monza Form

Their last three matches saw Monza drawing 1-1 with Torino, before taking out SSC Napoli by 2-0, and Sassuolo by 1-2. Monza claimed a middle-of-the-road three wins in their previous six matches on home soil in the Serie A. They also drew two and lost one, as they scored nine and conceded seven goals.

Lecce Form

Lecce came through the last three games without a win, but still booked two points to their account. They lost 0-1 against Verona, followed by a 2-2 draw with Lazio. They also shared the points in a 0-0 draw with Spezia. Lecce came through their last six away games in the Serie A without a single win. Of those six matches, they drew one and lost five in which, they were outscored by ten goals to three.

They went into the season as candidates for the drop, and unfortunately for Lecce, they have lived up to expectations. As the season draws to a close, they are still in with a chance of escaping relegation, though.

While it might not be a big surprise to see Lecce steal a good result at U-Power Stadium, form nevertheless looks better for Monza. They get the nod on Sunday.

Monza took 34 points from their last 19 encounters with teams from the bottom half of the Serie A table. This amounts to nine wins after scoring 32 times and conceding 21. Lecce scored 17 goals and conceded 28 in their last 18 encounters with teams in the top half of the Serie A. This lead to three wins and 14 points. Monza are looking at a record of 14 wins, ten draws and 12 defeats in the Serie A this season. Lecce put seven wins, 12 draws and 17 defeats on the board in the Serie A.
