Liverpool have won only one of their last seven matches since hammering Arsenal 4-0 so it will come as a bit of a surprise that the bookies have made Liverpool the favourites to win this match at Anfield, with the home side a best price of 6/4.
Much has been made of Liverpool’s failure to convert chances of late, with so many shots failing to find the net. Worryingly for Liverpool they have won just one of their last eight matches against Manchester United in all competitions and currently have 12 points from seven games this season. If they lose this game, they will have the same number of points as they did from eight games in 2015-16, which saw Brendan Rodgers sacked from his position as Liverpool manager.
Man Utd arrive into this fixture in excellent form. The Red Devils have won their last six matches and have only conceded five goals in all competitions so far! They have had a favourable fixture list up to this point which has surely had a bearing on those results, but you can only beat what is in front of you!
For those reasons, some may fancy an ‘upset’ with best Premier League odds of 15/8 using our odds comparison service on a Man Utd win.
My recommended Liverpool v Man Utd tip is to back ‘Man Utd draw no bet’ at a best price of 21/20 using our Easyodds odds comparison grid.
Last season Jose Mourinho successfully ‘parked the bus’ against Liverpool at Anfield in a match where the Red Devils had just 35% of the ball but restricted the home side to just six shots on goal at a time when they were scoring for fun.
All of the Liverpool front three have had trips to South America in midweek and will surely be somewhat fatigued from that and Klopp won’t be pleased they play the early Saturday game on the back of it!
Manchester United have kept 17 clean sheets in the Premier League in 2017, three more than any other side. Jose Mourinho’s side have recorded a shutout in eight of their last nine league games, shipping just two goals in the process, so getting past their rear guard will be difficult.
Whilst Liverpool’s defence looks less than watertight (20 goals conceded already this season) I am not sure quite how much Mourinho will attack here, so I am playing safer than an outright Utd win and backing Man Utd draw no bet with best Premier League odds of 21/20.
I’m not necessarily sure that punters realise the importance of our odds comparison service…
For example if you fancy Romelu Lukaku to score (who has scored 15 goals in all competitions this season, netting in all but one of his 12 games) then he is a best price of 13/10. There’s a hefty difference in his price when you consider his worst price is just even money. Why wouldn’t you use our site to peruse the anytime goalscorer market and ensure you get the best possible odds?
