2018 Grand National OddsRay Corniche - 09:10, 3rd October 2017
“The Grand National is probably the most celebrated horse race in the entire world. Famed for its uniqueness, the four mile plus chase is a test like no other for the 40 horses that compete in it. But who will be taking home the price in 2018? I go through some at the top of the market right now.”
One For Arthur - BET NOW
Last year’s winner, One For Arthur, objectively bolted up in 2017 and he’s currently your favourite to regain his crown. He really went from strength-to-strength last season, and didn’t look to be slowing down in April. Lucinda Russell has mentioned that there should be loads more to come over these trips and as an eight-year-old she could be right!
Minella Rocco- BET NOW?
Last season’s Gold Cup second looks to be absolutely tailor made for this race. He plods through races, regularly getting outpaced even in three miles plus contests. He came from the clouds to nab second in the Gold Cup in 2017 and the aim is to go back for the big event at the Festival this year. What’s more, his preparation for that race was littered with injury issues so you would think there could be more to come from him as well.
Blaklion- BET NOW?
The Nigel-Twiston Davies gelding has always looked a dour stayer in the making and he showed thoses traits when taking the RSA in 2016. Last season was all about one race, the Grand National, and he ran a blinder in fourth. However, many argued he was sent to the front far too soon, and with more waiting tactics he’ll go even closer.
Our Duke - BET NOW?
The Jessica Harrington Irish National winner is by no means certain to go for this race but if he did he would more than likely be the class angle in the race. His Irish National win off of top weight was one of the most impressive victories in the whole national hunt season from 2016-2017 and if he comes on again he’ll be a force to be reckoned with in any top class staying chase event.
