“We finally hit the big winner we've been waiting for yesterday as Eamon An Cnoic won at Haydock at a massive SP of 18/1. There's an interesting card at Wincanton tomorrow, including a decent quality three mile handicap chase.” JJ
I mentioned my first tip on Twitter last night just in case the price went, but he's actually drifted out to 4/1! DAKLONDIKE (4/1) showed huge improvement on his first run this season when hacking up by 18 lengths on soft ground at Wetherby, similar conditions to what he'll face in the south-west today. His next run came only four days later, which may have been a mistake in itself, but despite a couple of horrific jumping errors he still stayed on dourly from an unpromising position into fourth. After a longer break he should be rearing to go and I wouldn't be surprised if he was still many pounds ahead of the handicapper.

The next race at Wincanton is another competitive looking contest; a class three handicap run over half a furlong short of two miles. Couer Blimey has the besting of these on his best form, and could come on for his seasonal debut last time, but the yard are floundering badly so at 13/8 I'll be leaving him alone for now. CAPELAND (5/2) is the one for me, running for Paul Nichols and the lady of the moment Bryony Frost. He improved for his firs run at Stratford to end up fourth at Sandown over two and a half miles last time. However, he made a taking move from last to first coming into the straight, showing a lot of speed in the process, so you would imagine this step back to two miles will suit. Paul Nichols has an unbelievable record at the track with a 34% strike-rate from 234 runners and he's also on slightly better terms than last time with Bryony Frost taking off two extra pounds.
