The Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers will meet for the 205th time in the history of the franchises on Sunday. The Bears are coming off a surprise 19-10 win against the San Francisco 49ers in NFL Week 1. Quarterback Justin Fields tossed two touchdowns and 121 yards in passing.

Chicago are aiming for a second straight win against their biggest rival, the Green Bay Packers. The Pack did not get off to a good start in Week 1. Aaron Rodgers and company lost 23-7 to NFC North rivals, the Minnesota Vikings.

Green Bay were favourites to win in Minnesota but as the NFL’s slogan says, “on any given Sunday” anything can happen. Rodgers threw one interception while racking up 195 yards passing. The Vikings' defence kept the reigning Most Valuable Player from throwing a touchdown.

Rodgers struggled versus the Vikings and the Packers’ running game sputtered out. Coach Matt LaFleur will hope the safe confines of Lambeau Field help secure a win versus the Bears.

Chicago Bears @ Green Bay Packers Betting Odds

The Packers go into Sunday’s game as the bookies’ money-line favourite. Green Bay are the heavy favourite in fact. Bookies’ best betting odds on a Packers win are at 1/5. The Chicago Bears are at money line odds of 15/4. Bookies have set the over/under at 41.5 points. Both the over and under are at odds of 10/11.

The Bears have not defeated the Packers since 2018. Chicago is winless in three straight seasons home and away versus Green Bay. Their recent historical record isn’t good, but the Bears are coming off of a win last weekend.

The last two games between these teams at Lambeau Field finished with over 41.5 points. Green Bay posted a 45-30 home win in 2021.

The Packers won the NFC North last season with a 13-4 record. Green Bay were 8-0 at Lambeau Field. It was Green Bay’s away form that cost them wins. Green Bay were 5-4 away from Lambeau Field and 4-2 in the NFC North division.

Chicago finished third in the NFC North last season with a record of 6-11. The Bears were 3-6 away from Soldier Field. Chicago won two of six games in the NFC North.

Despite last season’s record and performances, it is the Packers who limp into Week 2. Rodgers was abysmal in Week 1 and laid the blame elsewhere following the loss. Playing at home will greatly help Green Bay.

Chicago Bears @ Green Bay Packers Team News

NFL Week 1 took its toll on both the Bears and the Packers. Eight players are listed as injured for the Bears ahead of Week 2. Wide receiver Velus Jones is the biggest absentee for the Bears. He has a hamstring injury and missed practice this week.

Full-back Khari Blasingame is likely to miss the game due to personal issues. Offensive tackle Riley Reiff will be a game-time decision for Chicago. He is nursing a shoulder injury. Reiff did practice on Thursday.

The Packers could be without offensive tackle David Bakhtiari. He practiced at a limited capacity this week due to a knee problem. Centre Jake Hanson should start following a shoulder injury. Wide receiver Allen Lazard is nursing an ankle injury. He could still feature this weekend. Guard Jon Runyan is unlikely to play following a concussion.

Head coach Matt LaFleur will hope to get the Packers running game going this weekend. Aaron Jones led the team in Week 1 in rushing with 49 yards. The team combined for just over 100 yards on the ground. Meanwhile, Rodgers was sacked four times by the Vikings. Chicago’s pass rush only got to San Francisco quarterback Trey Lance twice. The Packers' offensive line shouldn’t be troubled by the Bears as it was by Minnesota.

Chicago Bears @ Green Bay Packers Predictions

Player Passing Touchdowns: Justin Fields under 0.5 touchdown passes @ 7/4

This is a bold prop bet for Sunday’s game at Lambeau Field. Justin Fields threw two touchdowns for the Bears in Week 1, but this week Chicago heads to Green Bay. Lambeau Field is a cemetery of dreams for the Chicago Bears. They lost each of their last five games at Lambeau Field. The Bears should lose once more to the Packers on the road. Fields was a rookie last season. He threw just seven touchdowns while tossing 10 picks. The Packers should get to Fields in Week 2.

Winning margin: Green Bay Packers 13-18 points @ 4/1

Three of the last four games between the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers ended with the latter winning by a margin greater than 13 points. Two of those three games ended with a winning margin between 13-18. Our betting tips prediction is for Green Bay to win with a margin of 13-18. Forget about Green Bay’s loss at Minnesota. The Packers will play well at home. The Bears are abysmal against Green Bay. Despite a win against the 49ers on opening day, Chicago should struggle at Lambeau Field once more.

Moneyline: Green Bay Packers @ 1/5

The Packers should win against the Chicago Bears. Green Bay dominated the last 25 games between these teams posting 21 wins. The Bears lost the last six games against Green Bay in the regular season. The Packers were unbeaten at Lambeau Field in 2021. The stadium will be rocking with Packers fans. The atmosphere should help Green Bay post their first win of the 2022 season. Chicago won in Week 1 versus the 49ers. However, their trip to Green Bay won’t end in success.
