Vinnie Jones Betting Tips
Now listen to Cousin Vinnie. This is important.
I want you to keep safe in these Covid times. The vaccine is being rolled out and there is light at the end of the tunnel, but some out there need to listen to me.
Stay home to save lives, but if you are going out wear your f****** mask - especially on those trains. You might get a slap!
So let’s do this people. We’ll be back to normal soon I’m sure. We’re on the home straight - and the winning post is definitely in sight . . .
And it was definitely in sight at Chelmsford on Sunday!
That’s right, one of our racehorses in the Rogues Gallery Syndicate, Rockett Man, did the business on the track.
Sadly we weren’t there to see him, but all the boys cheered him on from their living rooms - especially my pal Graham Coles.
Colesy was up on the sofa giving it some like he was riding him. Thank heavens he wasn’t I say - he’s put on some lockdown timber! No, Rockett Man was in the capable hands of young Laura Pearson and she rode a peach of a race.
This was our first winner since getting involved with Tony Elliot and the Rogues Gallery Syndicate. As I’ve said before, trainer Tom Clover has a fantastic set-up in Newmarket and it’s definitely worth checking out via www.roguesgalleryracing.com.
Tom is confident Rockett Man will improve and hopefully he has a good 2021 along with all the others in the syndicate - we’re off and running and loving it.
We’re also off and running with our FA Cup tip West Ham.
The Hammers came through a potential banana skin away at Edgeley Park on Monday against a good Stockport County side. They play good football, so the dreadful conditions - sometimes a leveller - didn’t help them either.
Anyway, West Ham are through and joined all the other top sides in the draws for the fourth and fifth round on Monday - except Leeds, of course.
Look, I was gutted for Leeds and it’s crazy that Marcelo Bielsa is yet to win an FA Cup tie during his time at Elland Time - maybe give me a call next season Marcelo and I’ll help you. I know what it takes!
Anyway, what a story for Crawley Town and well done to manager John Yems and all his team for their giant-killing act.
Them beating Leeds was definitely the story of the third round, but I also thought the Marine match against Spurs was brilliant, too.
The Marine pitch surrounded by all those houses was almost like having a crowd again. People were in their gardens - many with a glass in hand - cheering their team on. It was brilliant and they gave it a go.
And when Gareth Bale came on, that was it. What a sight for little Marine, although am sure what that means for Jose and Gareth. You wonder whether it’s working there, but hopefully Gareth can start to show his magic soon.
But back to the Crawley and Marine games - and it summed up everything about the FA Cup this. And funnily enough, these Covid times might have made people appreciate the Cup even more. It was the only game in town, literally.
I’m sure I read somewhere that 9m people tuned into Marine v Spurs, that’s amazing. And the Mark Wright documentary on the Beeb about him signing for Crawley is what it’s all about. It’s a great watch - and you don't even have to be a football fan to enjoy it.
Anyway, we’re back to the Premier League this week - so check out my predictions below.
Man City are favourites in my book now. They brushed Chelsea aside and look back to something like their best. They’ve got Palace this weekend and I don’t fancy an upset at all - City will be in most people’s multiples.
I fancy Chelsea can get back on track against Fulham and for Leeds to do the same against Brighton - but what about the biggest match of the weekend at Anfield on Sunday?
It’s Liverpool v Man Utd - a warm-up for their FA Cup clash! - and I just feel Klopp’s men will just get the better of Ole’s team. They’ve made a real march to the top of the table, but Liverpool will be keen to keep them in their place!
Meanwhile, the PGA Tour remains in Hawaii for this week’s Sony Open.
It’s a field without some of the major winners, but Collin Morikawa is in there, as are in-form Harris English and Joaquin Neimann. They featured in Sunday’s play-off for the Sentry Tournament of Champions - well done the English-man!
Anyway, so to this week’s comp and they’re playing at Waialae Country Club on Honolulu. Nice job if you can get it!
Cameron Smith won it last year from Brendan Steele and Webb Simpson - and Webb is one of the major favourites this year. He tops Vinnie’s Three Off The Tee along with Kevin Kisner, who finished well in Maui and has a good Sony Open record, and the classy Morikawa.
