The standout fixture in round three of the 2022 Six Nations comes from Twickenham where England play host to fierce rivals Wales.

After tough losses to start this year's Championship, both teams got back to winning ways last time out with Wales edging out Scotland 20-17 at the Principality Stadium. England had a far easier time of it when shutting out Italy in Rome and that 33-0 bonus-point victory leaves Eddie Jones' men sat second in the table, behind leaders France.

With a visit to Paris still to come, England are still in with a chance of winning the Six Nations but will need to take care of a Wales team that embarrassed them last year to stay on France's tail.

England vs Wales Betting Odds

England are heavy 1/6 favourites to record back-to-back wins and continue their recent excellent run of form at Twickenham, where they have won 13 of their last 14 outings since the 2019 World Cup.

Wales are 5/1 to pull off the upset and end a ten-year wait for a Six Nations win at Twickenham. The Welsh have won in the interim period - a memorable 2015 World Cup success - and convincingly beat England when the teams last met, running out 40-24 winners in Cardiff.

England vs Wales Team News

England have received a triple injury boost ahead of Saturday's game with Courtney Lawes and Joe Marler both cleared to play, while Manu Tuilagi has proved his fitness with Sale and is expected to feature.

Lawes, who had been expected to captain the side in the absence of Owen Farrell, has been out since mid-January with a head injury but has been given the green light. He and Tuilagi are likely to be drafted into the starting line-up with Tuilagi having looked in good form for Sale after missing the opening two rounds of the Six Nations with a hamstring problem.

Wales are hopeful skipper Dan Biggar will be cleared to play after hobbling through the finish of the win over Scotland. Elsewhere, there's better news with Josh Adams having overcome a calf injury, Willis Halaholo shaking off the effects of an eye injury and Taulupe Faletau returning to the squad.

England vs Wales H2H

Saturday's game will be the 138th meeting between England and Wales with the Red Rose having shaded the series, registering 65 wins to Wales' 60 victories with 12 draws.

Recently, the home team has come out on top, winning six of the last seven editions of the fixture, while England have won five of the last six encounters in the Six Nations at Twickenham.

odds

The return of Tuilagi is massive for England and the omens when the powerful centre is in the side are excellent for Eddie Jones' men - they haven't lost a home game with Tuilagi in the squad since 2012. He gives England an extra bit of muscle and they should overpower a Wales team that were pushed around by Ireland in their opening Six Nations outing.

However, England's play has been inconsistent in both games against Scotland and Italy and there will be opportunities for Wales to put points on the board and stay in touching distance. Wayne Pivac's men were much improved in their win over Scotland following the Dublin debacle and can't be underestimated given they are the reigning champions.

While Wales romped to victory last year, these games tend to be closely fought affairs with England's last four wins at Twickenham over the Welsh being by margins of 12 points or less. Three of England's last four home victories in the Six Nations have also been by margins of one to 12 points and that looks a fair bet to cash once more.
