Montpellier vs PSG Betting Odds, Tips, Predictions, Preview 1st February 2023
PSG go up against Montpellier on Wednesday for an exciting Ligue 1 meeting at Stade de la Mosson.
Looking at the Ligue 1 standings, the current difference between the sides is 28 points and 13 places.
PSG are hugely favoured to knock out Montpellier from this competition. The latter will obviously put up a fight on Wednesday but an away win still seem the most likely scenario.
PSG scored 21 goals, conceded ten and held on for a clean sheet in four of their last ten matches.
The late encounter in the Ligue 1 between these two teams was a belter of a 5-2 match. Are we in for a similar goal-fest this coming Wednesday?
Montpellier vs PSG Prediction
Montpellier Form
Montpellier lost twice in their last three matches, as they were defeated 6-1 by Nice and 0-3 against Nantes. They turned the table by winning 0-2 against Auxerre. In their last six Ligue 1 matches at home, Montpellier have one win, while they've drawn one and lost four.
PSG Form
PSG added four points to their account in their previous three matches, starting off beating Angers 2-0. A 1-0 defeat against Rennes followed, before sharing the points with Reims in a 1-1 draw. PSG managed a decent return of three wins in their last six Ligue 1 away matches, in which they scored seven while also conceding five times. They also experienced one draw and two defeats.
We expect PSG to return from their trip to Stade de la Mosson with a win, but Montpellier will do anything to avoid getting pummelled on home soil. Thus, we combine the away win with under 3.5 goals.
Montpellier have a record of six wins, two draws and 12 defeats in the Ligue 1 this season. PSG show off 15 wins, three draws and two defeats in the Ligue 1.
